Rebecca Etzine is a New York based director, actor, and theatre educator. Raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Rebecca graduated from Fordham University, College at Lincoln Center where she double majored in Theatre Performance and Directing. Rebecca has trained broadly in classical theatre both as an actor and director; participating in intensive programs at The Moscow Art Theatre School and the American Shakespeare Center. Rebecca earned her LTCL in theatre education from Trinity College, London after spending three month teaching in Johannesburg, South Africa. In her role as artistic director, Rebecca has mentored numerous young people; helping them understand themselves as artists better through engaging hands on with the process of studying and performing classical theatre. She has directed numerous productions and readings with The Cradle including: Love’s Labor’s Lost (2010), Romeo and Juliet (2011), The Winter’s Tale (2013), as well as this past summer’s remount of Romeo and Juliet (2015). In addition to her work with The Cradle, Rebecca is a teaching artist with the Women’s Housing and Economic Development Company; mentoring and educating students in their after school middle school programs.
